You know that a day is never going to be good when you pass out within the first ten minutes of actually getting out of bed. Well, it happened to me today, and actually turned out to be alright! Despite the initial shock of collapsing on the floor without knowing, the house mate erupting into hysterics and me spilling my cup of coffee on the floor (and all over myself in the process) it actually ended up being quite a fine day!
Ah yes, beautiful weather, just like the weather we had earlier on in March this year. Funny how we seemed to have the most glorious March and April, then the sun decided to neglect us until late September/early October. Caught us all unawares, as you might expect. People in hot pants at the beginning of October? In ENGLAND of all places? Strewth! Yes, apparently today reached the hottest day in October since records began, and to tell you the truth, I like 29 degree heat whatever the time of year. However, it is a bit of a bitch to cycle in when you are wearing more than one layer of clothes.
It turned out to be quite a mental day in the end, with a nice relaxing pedal towards college in the midday heat, and returning back to work up the godforsaken hill merely an hour later. I did end up getting to work a good hour early though, so I purchased a generous portion of ice cream and decided to go for a wander round the food market. It just made me realise that I really need to invest in some chilli plants, seeing as I go through chillis like there's no tomorrow...
Busy busy busy at work, slaving away into the evening to make everything spick and span, but I ended up missing the gig that I wanted to see that evening. Big thumbs down, but que sera sera...
It's days like those, especially coupled with the heat, that really drain you/make you feel like a headless chicken.
